Cultural-congress center in Panorama Thessaloniki Architects: Prof. A. M. Kotsiopoulos A.U.Th, A. Panou, E. Zoumpoulidou
The Cultural-congress center is a reinforced concrete building having its main portion below grade level. On the bottom level there is an underground parking, access to which is obtained by a helical ramp.
The building complex consists of 4 independent structural configurations separated by seismic joints. Due to the extensive use of perimeter walls, and also the soil pressures, the simulation and analysis of the structures was made using the finite-element method using 2d shell elements.                                   |
